Sr. Engineer / Assistant Manager

As a Sr. Engineer / Assistant Manager in Factory Engineering for a flexible packaging industry, your role will involve leading and managing the Engineering and Maintenance functions of the manufacturing factory. Your primary goal will be to ensure uninterrupted operations of plant machinery, electrical systems, utilities, and infrastructure while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and optimizing cost, safety, and efficiency. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead day-to-day operations of the Engineering department as the in-charge. - Plan, execute, and monitor preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for electrical and mechanical equipment such as extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting, and pouching machines. - Maintain uptime and efficiency of utilities including compressors, DG sets, HVAC, chillers, ETP/STP, etc. - Troubleshoot and resolve plant and electrical issues promptly. - Support or lead factory setup, installation, and commissioning of new machines and infrastructure. - Coordinate with equipment vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders for timely execution of projects. - Serve as the Electrical Supervisor under statutory norms per Indian Electricity Rules. - Ensure adherence to safety norms, periodic inspections, and regulatory compliance (e.g., CEIG, DISCOM). - Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections. - Monitor spare parts inventory and manage procurement of engineering consumables. - Optimize cost of maintenance without compromising reliability and safety. - Supervise a small team of technicians and contractors. - Evaluate and manage vendor performance for outsourced services or AMC. - Conduct regular training and skill development sessions for team members. **Qualification Required:** - Minimum 7 years of experience - B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering - Holder of Electrical Supervisory, C License (Mandatory) In this role, your strong hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems in a flexible packaging environment, sound understanding of PLC/automation, drives, sensors, and control systems, proficiency in preventive maintenance systems and tools, excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability, familiarity with EHS regulations, and strong leadership and communication skills will be essential.
