Description
Key Responsibilities: 1. Database Management and OptimizationAdminister, configure, and maintain relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource monitoring.Implement and maintain database maintenance plans, including backups, statistics updates, and consistency checks. 2. Security and Compliance Manage user access and roles following the principle of least privilege. Ensure databases comply with internal data security policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Perform audits, track changes, and implement data encryption and masking where necessary. 3. High Availability and Disaster RecoveryDesign and implement high-availability database solutions including clustering, replication, and failover.Develop and test backup and disaster recovery plans. Ensure minimal downtime by proactively monitoring health and performance of databases. 4. Support and CollaborationWork closely with software developers, DevOps engineers, data analysts, and system architects. Provide support for database design during development projects.Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including corruption, slow queries, deadlocks, and connectivity errors. 5. Monitoring and ReportingUse tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Profiler, SolarWinds, or Nagios to monitor systems. Generate performance, security, and usage reports for stakeholders.Develop custom scripts for monitoring, automation, and alerting.
