Description
As an experienced SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the availability, performance, and integrity of our SQL Server databases. Your responsibilities will include: - **Database Administration:** Installing, configuring, and upgrading SQL Server instances. Monitoring and maintaining SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance. - **Performance Tuning:** Identifying and resolving performance issues. Optimizing queries, indexes, and database schemas to enhance database performance. - **Backup and Recovery:** Implementing and managing backup and recovery strategies. Performing regular database backups and restore operations as needed. - **Security Management:** Ensuring database security through proper access controls, encryption, and auditing. Monitoring and responding to security incidents. - **Troubleshooting and Support:** Providing technical support for database-related issues. Troubleshooting and resolving database problems in a timely manner. - **Documentation:** Maintaining accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. - **Collaboration:** Working closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to design and implement database solutions that meet business needs. In terms of qualifications and skills required, we are looking for someone with: - **Education:** A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus. - **Experience:** A minimum of 10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or Database Engineer. - **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Profiler, T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, database design, indexing, query optimization, SQL Server Always On, Replication, and High Availability solutions. - **Problem-Solving:** Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - **Communication:** Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. - **Attention to Detail:** High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Additionally, preferred qualifications include experience with cloud-based SQL Server solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database), knowledge of other database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), and familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
