Description
We are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer to join our team. You should have a strong background in SQL Server database management, performance tuning, and data security. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the availability, performance, and integrity of our SQL Server databases. Your tasks will include installing, configuring, and upgrading SQL Server instances, as well as monitoring and maintaining databases for high availability and performance. You will need to identify and resolve performance issues, optimize queries, indexes, and database schemas to enhance performance, and implement backup and recovery strategies. Ensuring database security through access controls, encryption, and auditing will be crucial. You will also provide technical support for database-related issues, troubleshoot and resolve problems, and maintain accurate documentation of configurations and procedures. Collaboration with developers, system administrators, and stakeholders to design and implement database solutions will also be part of your role. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or Database Engineer. Proficiency in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022, strong T-SQL skills, and experience with tools like SQL Server Management Studio and SQL Server Profiler are required. Knowledge of database design, indexing, and query optimization is essential, as well as experience with SQL Server Always On, Replication, and High Availability solutions. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders are important qualities for this role. Experience with cloud-based SQL Server solutions and familiarity with other database systems like MySQL and PostgreSQL will be beneficial.
