Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Support Engineer

As a Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Support Engineer at HCL Software, you will be a part of the HCL Cloud Product team based in Bangalore. Your role will involve working with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP to deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud architectures. Here is a breakdown of the key responsibilities and qualifications required for this position: **Role Overview:** You will be responsible for translating application requirements into cloud architecture/infrastructure, selecting appropriate services based on compute, data, or security requirements, and migrating on-premises workloads to cloud service providers. Additionally, you will troubleshoot distributed systems, monitor and audit systems, and define best practices for infrastructure maintenance. **Key Responsibilities:** - Proficiency in AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform with core infrastructure services. - Experience in hosting applications on GCP using Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud SQL, Kubernetes Engine, and Cloud Storage. - Knowledge of networking principles and protocols such as IP subnetting, routing, firewall rules, Virtual Private Cloud, Load Balancer, Cloud DNS, Cloud CDN, etc. - Hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, Route 53/DNS, Clustering (EKS and ECS), Log Management, and IAM. - Advanced knowledge of Azure Compute Instances, Azure Storage, Azure Backup, VNet, Subnets, NSG/ASG, IAM, Azure RBAC, SSL, Traffic Manager, Azure DNS, and Load balancers. - Hands-on experience with GCP Compute, Cloud Storage, GCP IAM, and SSL Certs. - Strong understanding of security best practices using IAM Policies & Roles, SSL, KMS, etc. - Familiarity with configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet/Chef, Unix/Linux, and Windows basic administration. - Knowledge of Service Now, Incident Management, Change Management, and other ITIL processes. - Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate IT concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. - Practical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. - Proficiency in at least one of the cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a must. Intermediate knowledge in the other two platforms is desirable. **Qualifications Required:** - Btech/BE in Computer Science or a related technical field, or proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical software engineering experience. - Ability to write infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation, JSON, YAML, or Terraform. - Skills in API usage, command-line interface, and SDKs for writing applications. - Extensive experience with at least one operating system: Linux, Ubuntu, Windows. This role will require you to work in a 24/5 schedule with flexibility for rotating shifts. You will be based at the HCL Software office in Karle, Bangalore.
