Sr. Accountant

The Senior Accountant position based in Siliguri within the Accounts & Finance department requires a candidate with 6-10 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in the manufacturing or trading sector. The ideal candidate should hold a degree in B.Com, M.Com, CA Inter, or MBA (Finance) with a negotiable salary. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate maintenance of accounts, assisting in audits, statutory compliance, and providing guidance to junior accountants. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting standards and taxation are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and statements. - Finalize accounts and prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements. - Manage statutory compliances such as GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, etc. - Assist in internal and external audits, including preparing necessary schedules and responses. - Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. - Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of books. - Maintain internal control systems and recommend improvements. - Coordinate with external consultants, banks, and vendors. - Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff. Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP). - Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, SAP, or other ERP systems. - Good understanding of direct and indirect taxation. - Excellent MS Excel skills. - Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
