About the Role

SQL Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  
• Design and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships to support application requirements.
  
• Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and business users to gather and understand data needs.
  
• Monitor and tune database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
  
• Assist in data migration, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data integration tasks.
  
• Maintain data integrity, security, and backup strategies within the database environment.
  
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for database development and data workflows.
  
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and support production environments.
  
• Stay updated on the latest SQL features, database technologies, and industry best practices.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in

  Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  .
• 2–5 years of experience as an

  SQL Developer

  or in a similar database development role.
• Proficiency in

  SQL programming

  and experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as

  Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL

  .
• Strong understanding of

  database design principles

  , normalization, and indexing.
• Experience with

  query optimization

  , execution plans, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with

  ETL tools

  and processes.
• Basic knowledge of

  scripting languages

  (Python, Shell, or PowerShell) is a plus.
• Experience with

  data warehousing

  concepts and business intelligence tools is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with

  SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS

  (for Microsoft SQL Server environments).
• Familiarity with

  NoSQL databases

  (MongoDB, Cassandra) is a bonus.
• Knowledge of

  cloud database services

  (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
• Experience working in

  Agile/Scrum

  development environments.
• Exposure to

  version control

  systems (Git, SVN).
