Speech Therapist

As a flexible and resourceful Speech Therapist, your role will involve performing patient assessments, developing individual treatment plans, liaising with teachers, family members, and other healthcare professionals, administering therapy, and monitoring progress. You will ensure that patients and their families are informed of new treatments and therapy techniques. Additionally, you should be willing to work with patients from diverse backgrounds and make house calls when necessary. Key Responsibilities: - Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders. - Communicating with the patient, liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans. - Using a combination of tried and tested therapies and innovative techniques to deliver optimal care. - Staying updated with advancements in the field through conferences, research, and expanding professional networks. - Educating patients and families on speech disorders and available therapies. - Maintaining detailed patient history and progress notes. - Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students. - Evaluating patient progress and adjusting therapy programs as needed. Qualifications Required: - Degree in speech therapy or speech-language pathology. - Relevant license and certification. - Experience with specific disorders and age groups may be necessary. - Strong understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments. - Familiarity with database management software. - Excellent relationship-building, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills. - Willingness to conduct research and attend conferences.
