Specialist - Fabric Sourcing

Role Overview: As a Specialist - Fabric Sourcing at the direct-to-consumer (D2C) lifestyle brand promoting the / SAADAA way of living and producing / BETTER basics, you will be instrumental in identifying and procuring the appropriate fabrics in alignment with design aesthetics, functionality requirements, and brand standards. Your key responsibilities will involve liaising with mills and vendors, conducting fabric performance tests in laboratories, ensuring fabric quality and sustainability, collaborating with internal teams, overseeing sampling and bulk approval processes, staying abreast of textile innovations, and maintaining comprehensive documentation of fabric data and test results. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with mills and vendors to procure fabrics that meet design, functionality, and sustainability criteria - Conduct lab tests to assess fabric performance parameters and ensure quality standards are met - Manage sampling and bulk approval processes to maintain consistency in fabric quality - Stay updated on textile innovations and industry trends to incorporate cutting-edge materials into sourcing strategies - Document fabric data and testing results for future reference and analysis - Communicate effectively with internal teams to align fabric sourcing activities with overall brand objectives - Uphold brand standards by ensuring that sourced fabrics adhere to quality benchmarks and sustainability practices Qualification Required: - Textile Engineer with 3-6 years of experience in fabric sourcing, preferably in the fashion or lifestyle industry - Proficiency in fabric testing, dyeing, and finishing processes - Knowledge of weaving techniques, fabric structures, and various types of fabrics (natural and synthetic) - Familiarity with recycling and sustainable textile practices - Understanding of chemical processing and innovative material research and development (R&D) - Strong attention to detail, quality orientation, excellent communication skills, and adept vendor management abilities,
