Specialist Data Security Engineer

Role Overview: As a Specialist Data Security Engineer at Amgen, you will play a vital role in covering Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) technologies. You will report to the Manager, Data Security and provide essential services to enable Amgen to pursue its mission of serving patients. Your responsibilities will include operating, managing, and improving DLP and CASB solutions, identifying emerging risks related to cloud technologies, advising management, developing technical remediations, and leading the development of processes and procedures for data security protection. Additionally, you will educate and evangelize security strategies to technologists and business leaders while collaborating with various teams to ensure cloud data protection is incorporated into new business projects. Key Responsibilities: - Designs, operates, maintains, and enhances capabilities for protecting data for all Amgen global operations. - Identifies new risk areas for data and plans controls to mitigate risks. - Researches new technologies, processes, and approaches for data protection. - Develops procedures, guidelines, and advises on policies related to data protection requirements. - Conducts training on data protection technologies for operations staff and educates business leadership about data risk. - Advises technology groups on data protection strategies and integrates cloud data protection technology into operations. - Partners with legal and human resources leadership on violation remediations and ensures cloud data protection is incorporated into new business projects. Qualification Required: - Masters degree with 4 to 6 years of experience, or Bachelors degree with 6 to 8 years of experience, or Diploma with 10 to 12 years of experience. - Familiarity with security frameworks, proficiency in specifying requirements for technical systems, global IT operations expertise, and demonstrated competence in maintaining applications on Windows and Linux based systems. - Proficiency with Cloud Access Security Platforms, project management leadership, and deep knowledge of Data Protection principles. - Soft skills include analytical skills, ability to work effectively with global teams, self-motivation, managing multiple priorities successfully, team-oriented, and effective presentation skills.
