Special Educator

Key Responsibilities

Special Educational Services

• Conduct special educational assessments for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
• Plan, implement, and manage individualized educational intervention programs.
• Provide educational guidance and counselling to beneficiaries and their caregivers.

Community Outreach and Follow-up

• Conduct home visits and ensure regular follow-up services for continuity of intervention.
• Participate in and support screening camps for early identification of disabilities.
• Facilitate referrals to appropriate health, education, and rehabilitation services.

Training and Capacity Building

• Organize and conduct training programs for parents, caregivers, and community stakeholders.
• Recommend and support distribution of teaching learning materials based on individual needs.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records, case files, and documentation related to assessments, interventions, and follow-up services.
• Prepare and submit reports as required by the project.

Coordination and Additional Duties

• Work closely with the multidisciplinary project team to ensure integrated service delivery.
• Carry out additional responsibilities assigned from time to time as per project needs.

Educational Qualifications

• Graduate degree with Diploma in Special Education (ID/HI/VI/ASD/CP) or equivalent, or
• B.Ed in Special Education (ID/HI/VI/ASD/CP), or
• B.R.S. (MR) with specialization in Special Education.
• Mandatory RCI registration as personnel or professional in Special Education (ID).

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
• Experience in community-based rehabilitation and disability programs is desirable.

• Ability to work sensitively with children, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Empathetic and compassionate approach towards persons with disabilities.
• Analytical ability to assess challenges and recommend appropriate interventions.
