Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct special educational assessments for children with developmental disabilities.
  • Plan and implement individualized educational interventions and management strategies.
  • Provide educational guidance and counselling to children, families, and teachers.
  • Conduct home visits and follow-up services to monitor progress.
  • Organize and conduct training programs for teachers and caregivers.
  • Recommend and distribute teaching-learning materials (TLM) to support learning.
  • Provide referrals for specialized services as needed.
  • Guide teachers in curriculum adaptations to support diverse learners.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress.
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Educational Qualifications

  • Graduate with Diploma in Special Education (ID/HI/VI/ASD/CP) or equivalent, OR
  • B.Ed. in Special Education (ID/HI/VI/ASD/CP), OR
  • B.R.S. (MR) with specialization in Special Education.
  • Knowledge of cross-disability and inclusive pedagogy required.
  • RCI registration as personnel/professional in Special Education required.

Functional / Technical Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in inclusive mainstream schools is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), CBSE provisions for inclusive education, and differentiated instruction.
  • Empathetic and compassionate attitude; sensitive to children's needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and craft practical solutions and recommendations.
