SOX Compliance | Senior Consultant

Preferred candidate profile

The desired candidate should have:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA - preferred not mandatory
  

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in internal audit, SOX compliance, or internal controls testing.
  
• Understanding of SOX 404 and the COSO framework is essential.
  
• Prior experience in public accounting or internal audit preferred.
  

Certifications (preferred but not required):

• CPA, CIA
  

Skills:

• Strong understanding of financial processes and related risks and controls.
  
• Excellent documentation, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with business stakeholders.

Role & responsibilities

• Support the execution of the company's SOX program, focusing exclusively on business process and financial controls.
  
• Perform walkthroughs and document business processes, identifying key controls relevant to financial reporting.
  
• Assist in the design and execution of testing procedures to evaluate control effectiveness (design and operating).
  
• Track and follow up on remediation of control deficiencies identified during internal audit testing.
  
• Work closely with business units and control owners to ensure controls are clearly understood, properly designed, and consistently executed.
  
• Maintain and update internal SOX documentation including process narratives, flowcharts, and Risk & Control Matrices (RCMs).
  
• Participate in control rationalization and optimization initiatives, aiming to increase efficiency and reduce compliance burden.
  
• Collaborate within the Internal Audit team on risk assessments and annual SOX scoping exercises.
  
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve internal control structures and processes.
