Sous Chef - Pastry

As an Assistant to the Head Chef in the Bakery & Pastry Kitchen at our company in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, your role involves the following responsibilities: - Assist the Head Chef in planning food budgets and forecasts for the Bakery & Pastry Kitchen. - Schedule and coordinate the work of chefs to ensure timely food preparation within budget. - Interview, train, supervise, coach, counsel, and discipline department employees in collaboration with HR and the Executive Head Chef. - Produce all pastry goods from scratch as required by the menu. - Design and develop detailed food specifications. - Uphold departmental standards of quality and ensure timely delivery. - Train chefs and assistants in relevant aspects of pastry. - Assist the Executive Head Chef in developing standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation to maintain consistency, high quality, and manage food costs. - Assist in ordering food ingredients according to product specifications. - Participate in stock inventories. - Manage and maintain standard work practices and operating procedures for all equipment. - Ensure correct usage, cleaning, and maintenance of all kitchen equipment. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's in Hotel Management (BHM). - Excellent culinary skills in Bakery & Pastry.
