Job Description

You will be responsible for identifying, suggesting, and implementing the development of purchasing strategies and Supplier Performance Management under the supervision of the Purchasing and Supply Chain Director. Your main duties as a Sourcing Leader will include contributing to establishing and formalizing the SAFRAN Group India purchasing strategy and road map for each commodity in collaboration with the Purchasing Department. You will also monitor market evolution, develop purchasing marketing, control costs, and propose solutions to meet competitiveness commitments and program objectives. Additionally, you will be tasked with identifying and evaluating new sources and suppliers to support the localization targets of Safran India. Launching RFQs with identified suppliers, leading negotiations in collaboration with other commodity purchasing leaders within Safran entities, performing supplier selection committees, and formalizing purchasing contracts with new suppliers will also be part of your responsibilities. Managing existing contracts with current suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, supporting new product introductions, and assigning purchasing and scheduling duties based on business requirements will be essential aspects of your role. As a Supplier Performance Manager, you will focus on driving operational excellence and supporting the Supply Chain by improving supplier performance. This includes coordinating the supplier multi-functional team in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager, monitoring and managing the quality and logistics performance of suppliers, and identifying root causes of non-performance to establish action plans. You will be responsible for guaranteeing the consistency of improvement actions initiated by all Supply Chain players in charge of suppliers, measuring and communicating the overall performance through scorecards and steering meetings, and defining and managing the monitoring plan based on risk analyses made with the supplier multifunctional team. In both roles, you will work proactively to optimize purchasing costs and supply chain operations through creative solutions. Skills required for these positions include cross-functional project management, multidisciplinary teamwork, negotiation and contracts, change management, a good level of written and oral English, mastery of intercultural relationships, and an understanding of supply chain principles and tools, including performance audits, Load/Capacity, Rate Readiness Assessment, Line of Balance Analysis, Recovery Plan Management, and Business Continuity Plans. Moreover, qualities such as communication and listening, a sense of the field, pragmatism, rigor, spirit of analysis and synthesis, power of persuasion, and the ability to communicate and represent the company externally will be crucial for success. You should also be able to effectively communicate and present to senior management, both internally and externally, and be prepared for frequent domestic travel (up to 30%).,
