About The Role As the Solution Architect, you will be a principal responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of end-to-end solutions. You will build the liaison between business needs and secure technical solution.This role requires a unique blend of Business Architecture (understanding what the business does and why), Application Architecture (designing how the technology enables it) and Security Architecture (ensuring Solutions aligns with Accenture and its client(s) – security and data protection guidance along with industry standards). You will model complex, multi-stakeholder business processes (e.g., risk placement, claims, settlement) and design the API-driven, cloud-native applications to support them. You will also be responsible to overhaul the existing application and platform estate, modernizing the legacy estate, reduce tech debt with a continuous outlook towards Innovation and practical use of AI.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Architecture (The "Why" & "What")
Collaborate with Stakeholders:Partner with business stakeholders, insurers, underwriters, brokers, and operations teams to understand strategic goals and market dynamics.Capability Mapping:Define, model, and maintain the core business capabilities of the marketplace (e.g., "Manage Underwriting Capacity," "Process Complex Claims," "Place Syndicated Risk").Process Modelling:Deconstruct and document complex, multi-party business processes using frameworks like BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation).Translate Strategy:Convert business strategies and "Future State" ambitions into a tangible technology roadmap and solution blueprints.Application Architecture (The "How")End-to-End Solution Design:Design robust, scalable, and secure solutions for new application development, app or platform migration, feature development and enhancements.Modern Architecture:Champion modern architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven systems and API-first principles.Technology Selection:Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and platforms (e.g., Cloud services on Azure, integration platforms, data management tools) that align with the solution.Integration:Design the integration strategy for connecting disparate systems, including internal applications, third-party data providers (e.g., for risk modelling), and broker/carrier systems.Data & API Design:Define data flows, logical data models, and the API contracts.Governance & LeadershipCreate Artifacts:Develop and maintain core architectural artifacts, including solution blueprints, context diagrams, and data flow diagrams.Guide Development:Act as the senior technical guide for engineering teams, ensuring their detailed designs and implementation align with the agreed-upon solution architecture.Ensure Non-Functional Requirements:Embed security, scalability, performance, and resilience into every solution design from day one.Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture:Work closely with the wider EA team to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, policies, and long-term technical strategy and are approved through the governance forums.
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired (Must-Haves):Experience:10+ years in technology with at least 5+ years in a Solution Architect, Application Architecture, or similar roles.Industry Domain:Deep, demonstrable knowledge of the Insurance or Reinsurance industry.Marketplace Context:Proven experience with the business processes and technology challenges of a multi-sided marketplace (e.g., connecting brokers, carriers/syndicates, and a central body).Business Architecture:Demonstrable experience in business process modelling, capability mapping, and translating business needs into technical requirements.Application Architecture:Hands-on experience designing complex, distributed systems using microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-first principles.Cloud Expertise:Strong design experience on a major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).Stakeholder Management:Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to influence and build consensus with both senior business executives and deep technical-level engineers.Preferred (Nice-to-Haves):Formal training or certification in an Enterprise Architecture framework (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate).Experience with insurance data standards.Knowledge of digital placement platforms, modern claims systems, or syndicate pricing/modelling applications.Experience designing systems that manage complex financial settlements and transactions.
