Job Summary:

Solar Panel and Inverter Buyer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Development & Management:

    • Identify and develop suppliers for solar panels, inverters (string, hybrid, central), batteries (Li-ion, lead-acid), and Balance of System (BOS) components across residential, commercial, and utility-scale segments.
    • Evaluate and audit vendors for capacity, quality, certifications (MNRE, BIS, ALMM), and reliability.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation:

    • Lead RFQs, price negotiations, and contract finalization to ensure competitive pricing, payment terms, and timely delivery.
    • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified suppliers across Tier I and Tier II cities for residential rooftops, industrial rooftops, and ground-mount utility-scale projects.
  • Cross-functional Coordination:

    • Collaborate with project, design, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and compatibility of components with project requirements.
    • Ensure technical compliance and approval of products through internal engineering or consultants.
    • Interaction with Legal team for contract and agreement drafting .
  • Market Intelligence:

    • Monitor trends in solar and inverter technologies, pricing dynamics, and government policies affecting procurement decisions.
    • Track demand forecasts and inventory planning based on upcoming project pipelines across sectors.
  • Compliance & Documentation:

    • Ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards (MNRE, IEC, BIS, ALMM).
    • Manage documentation including purchase orders, delivery schedules, quality certifications, and supplier agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in procurement or sourcing in the renewable energy sector, with direct involvement in residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar procurement.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV modules (mono, bifacial, poly), inverter technologies (string, hybrid, central), and battery storage systems.
  • Experience working with EPC companies, OEMs, and large-scale solar developers.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Basic Knowledge of import processes, customs duty structures, and logistics in the Indian solar market.
  • High level analytical & Presentation skill
  • CXOs level MIS reporting is must.
