Solar Operations and Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Solar Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of ground-mounted and rooftop solar power projects. The role involves managing multiple sites, leading technical teams, ensuring plant performance, and maintaining high safety and quality standards across all operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day O&M activities for ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects across multiple locations
• Ensure maximum plant availability, performance ratio (PR), and generation targets
• Manage and lead site engineers, technicians, and subcontractors handling different project sites
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules
• Monitor SCADA systems, analyze performance data, and troubleshoot system issues
• Coordinate with clients, EPC teams, vendors, and utility authorities
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and quality procedures
• Prepare and review O&M reports, generation reports, downtime analysis, and root cause analysis
• Manage spare parts inventory and vendor/service contracts
• Support audits, inspections, and performance guarantee evaluations
• Train and mentor team members to improve technical and operational efficiency

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems (inverters, modules, transformers, HT/LT panels)
• Hands-on experience in ground-mounted and rooftop solar plants
• Proven team handling and multi-site management skills
• Ability to analyze plant performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Familiarity with SCADA, monitoring tools, and data analysis
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
• Good understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in electrical / Renewable Energy Engineering or related field
• 8 to 15 years of relevant experience in Solar O&M, with large-scale project exposure

Preferred Experience

• Handling portfolios of multiple MW capacity
• Exposure to client-facing roles and SLA-based O&M contracts
• Chennai or Tamil Nadu site experience is an added advantage
