Role Overview:

Software Tester

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Design

• Understand software requirements and user stories to design detailed and comprehensive test cases
  
• Prepare test plans, test data, and test environments for new and existing features
  
• Collaborate with developers and business analysts to clarify functionality and edge cases

Test Execution

• Perform manual testing for web, mobile, and desktop applications
  
• Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  
• Report bugs with clear documentation, reproduction steps, and screenshots/logs

Bug Tracking & Reporting

• Use tools like

  JIRA

  ,

  Bugzilla

  , or

  Azure DevOps

  to log and track defects
• Prioritize and verify fixes and retest resolved issues
  
• Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings to provide QA updates

Automation (Optional or Hybrid Role)

• If applicable, design and execute test scripts using tools like

  Selenium

  ,

  Postman

  ,

  JUnit

  , or

  TestNG

• Maintain and enhance automated test suites and CI pipelines

Nice-to-Haves:

• Exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Postman, JUnit, etc.)
  
• Experience with API testing and performance/load testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
  
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  
• Basic knowledge of databases (SQL) and version control (Git)
  
• QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE)
