Software Tester

As a Software Tester at our company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of our software applications. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and executing test cases to maintain software quality and performance. - Identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs using bug tracking software such as JIRA or Bugzilla. - Collaborating with the development team to understand product features and technical implementations. - Performing various types of testing (functional, regression, system, usability) across different platforms (web, mobile, desktop). - Developing and maintaining automated test scripts for continuous testing using tools like Selenium and Cypress. - Ensuring compliance with established software testing standards. - Preparing and presenting test reports summarizing results, defects, and recommendations. - Participating in Agile/Scrum development cycles and contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. - Testing APIs using tools like Postman to validate backend services. - Creating detailed test plans based on user stories and specifications. - Identifying process improvements to enhance testing efficiency. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Proven experience as a Software Tester or in a similar role. - Familiarity with various testing methodologies (Manual, Automated, Load, Performance, etc.). - Proficiency in automated testing tools like Selenium, JUnit, and TestNG. - Understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript (a plus). - Experience with Agile and DevOps practices. - Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred skills that would be beneficial for this role include: - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous integration testing. - Knowledge of API testing and web service testing (REST/SOAP). - Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. - ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications.
