Software Test Engineer Functional (L2 level, On Contract)

As a Software Test Engineer at our company in Ahmedabad, you will be part of a 3-month contract for an innovative Agentic AI project. Your role will involve requirement understanding and analysis, test planning, execution, and documentation for functional testing of AI-based applications. You will collaborate with project team members to ensure quality defects are reported and tracked effectively. **Key Responsibilities:** - Requirement understanding and analysis with identification of ambiguities and gaps in requirement - Participate in walkthroughs of testing procedures - Prepare test plan, generate test scenario, test cases, and test data associated with functional flow - Carry out testing as per the defined procedures within tight schedule - Perform functional testing, smoke testing, integration testing, regression testing and API testing in the assigned environment for AI-based applications - Validate system behavior, data flow, and decision logic within Agentic AI modules - Ensure that all tested related work is carried out as per the defined standards and procedures. Report and track quality defects - Collaborate with project team members for query and defect resolution - Must be agile in testing approach and ready to take up new challenges - Ready to adjust work shift as per the project requirements - Demonstrate approach towards technical expertise based on requirement of the project - Prepare comprehensive test reports and maintain test documentation **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field - Good understanding of agile methodology, software testing and defect life cycles - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work with the team of test analysts and software developers to find solutions - Responsible for test planning, test documentation and test status reporting - Good understanding of APIs, data validation or prompt-based AI systems - Ensures test execution results are accurate, thorough and appropriately documented - Strong exposure to Agentic AI tools or frameworks - Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and presentation skills - Familiarity with test management, defect management and project management tools - Experience in testing AI/ML or automation-based systems preferred As a secondary requirement, knowledge about database testing, usage of SQL queries, and ISTQB Foundation level certification would be beneficial.,
