Role Overview: The United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) manages and implements the United Nations programme on the peaceful uses of outer space and supports UNOV/UNODC with various operational services. As part of the United Nations Office at Vienna, the Information Technology Service (ITS) through its India Technology Hub (ITH) forms part of the ITS's vital delivery pillars in keeping with the UN's revised ICT strategy. The Software Quality Associate will be responsible for participating in testing, debugging, and implementing new application systems releases, modules, and functionalities, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and accessibility of digital learning content, and collaborating with various stakeholders to identify and resolve functional and usability issues. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in the testing, debugging, and implementation of new application systems releases, modules, and functionalities. - Ensure the quality, accuracy, and accessibility of all digital learning content developed and deployed through the organization's Learning Management System (LMS). - Review and validate the functionality of e-learning courses, including multimedia elements, interactive assessments, and compliance with SCORM and xAPI standards. - Conduct comprehensive cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure compatibility and adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1), collaborating closely with instructional designers, developers, and project managers. - Maintain test documentation, report defects using tools like JIRA, and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure a seamless learner experience. - Develop test cases and automate standard testing procedures using UN-established standards for IT technologies, programming languages, and tools. - Analyze error/defect data to understand error introduction and elimination, manage milestones and progress of software development projects. - Document testing and quality assurance processes and communicate them clearly to the team. - Prioritize and facilitate resolution of quality assurance issues. - Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements, working with the project to test all requirements. - Serve as a team member in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, planning, specification, and design of computer application systems. - Identify unit testing coverage with developers and address any gaps, perform workflow analysis, recommend quality improvements, ensure data security and integrity, and perform other assigned duties. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. - At least seven years of experience in software testing. - Fluent in English.
