Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at Bain & Company, you will be part of an Agile/scrum software development team dedicated to building and supporting Bains most strategic internal software systems. Your role involves delivering application modules independently while guiding associate/entry-level engineers. You will work collaboratively to design, build, and implement new features in enterprise-scale browser-based or mobile applications, utilizing current Microsoft development languages and technologies. Your focus will be on delivering value to Bains global users and supporting key business initiatives. In this position, your responsibilities will include working with teams to develop and update enterprise applications, participating in Agile team events, identifying technical steps required for story completion, and ensuring adherence to standard application design and architecture. You will also prepare work estimates, write unit test plans, participate in testing and implementation of application releases, and provide ongoing support for existing applications. Furthermore, you will contribute to evaluating new technologies for software application delivery, researching and recommending tools beyond current requirements, and sharing knowledge with the software development team. Effective communication is key, as you will present technical findings, address impediments, and provide input for team improvement during sprint retrospectives. The ideal candidate for this role should have a Bachelors or equivalent degree, 3-5 years of experience in developing enterprise-scale applications, and a strong understanding of agile software development methodologies. Proficiency in .NET & .NET Core frameworks, C#, T-SQL languages, Angular/React web frameworks, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure Services, and other relevant technologies is required. Additionally, strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills are essential for success in this position.
