Software Engineer III

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Your primary responsibility will be to carry out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. The Alternatives Technology team is currently seeking an application developer to join and drive a team responsible for the design and delivery of strategic solutions to support Alternative Investment businesses. The successful candidate will come from a server-side development background, possess a proven track record in designing and delivering distributed, event-driven services, and demonstrate a detailed knowledge of architecture principles and software development best practices. You should have expertise working in an Agile project environment, collaborating with the Product Owner and SCRUM Team on all aspects of the project, from developing the product vision and business case to delivering product increments. An understanding of code quality, code security, and application quality KPIs is essential to provide project metrics and data for informed decision-making throughout the delivery lifecycle. Your role will involve facilitating development and architecture discussions, leveraging a deep understanding of current application development tools and techniques. You must maintain a strong focus on engineering excellence and ensure compliance with all corporate, regulatory, IT risk, and architecture policies. A results-oriented approach is crucial, driving results through effective communication, influence, and interaction with others. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills include formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and a minimum of 5 years of applied experience. Extensive experience in Java development, including areas such as Spring, Spring Boot, and React, is necessary. Knowledge of web service technologies like REST and JSON, as well as application security areas such as authorization, authentication, and encryption, is required. Experience in multi-threaded application development and automated testing techniques, particularly BDD, along with familiarity with tools like Sonar, SSAP, JIRA, GIT, and Maven, is essential. Strong written and oral communication skills, effective team working abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple parallel work items with other developers and analysts are key attributes. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills include familiarity with modern front-end technologies and exposure to cloud technologies/AWS.,
