Software Engineer

The job involves an opportunity with a leading UAE bank as a Backend Engineer primarily focused on Node.js and Spring Boot technologies. As a Backend Engineer with 5-8 years of experience, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing existing Spring Boot applications while actively participating in the strategic shift towards a Node.js-centric architecture. Your proficiency in Node.js is crucial for driving future development endeavors. Preference will be given to candidates available for immediate joining or those with a notice period of up to 30 days. Prior exposure to the Banking, Financial, or Fintech sectors is highly desirable. Key skills required for this role include expertise in Backend Technologies such as Spring Boot and Node.js. For Spring Boot, you should have extensive experience in Microservices architecture, Event-Driven Design, and familiarity with frameworks like Spring Cloud, Hibernate, and MongoDB. In Node.js, you should be adept at building scalable, highly available RESTful APIs, with additional experience in GraphQL being advantageous. Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+) is essential to align with future Node.js development. You should also possess a proven track record in performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring within both Spring Boot and Node.js frameworks. Furthermore, experience in DevOps practices is key. This includes a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments, expertise in containerization using Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and scaling, and familiarity with API gateway integrations like 3Scale or Kong. Given the industry focus, domain knowledge in the Banking or Financial sectors is highly preferred.
