Working closely with senior backend engineers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of backend systems. Responsibilities: Building highly-scalable and secure payments platform Primary owners of one or more components of the platform and will drive innovation in your area of ownership Working with various product teams gathering requirements and adding capabilities Working with some of the smartest people in the industry and will have ample opportunity to learn and grow Using cutting-edge cryptography to secure payments beyond industry standards Deriving actionable insights by mining TBs of data Building low-level infrastructure that aims to push the boundaries of network performance Participating actively in recruitment and nurturing of engineers as awesome as you Skills: 3-4 years of experience in building, maintaining, and scaling infrastructure systems Strong grasp of distributed systems and how to make them scale and recover gracefully Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS/GCP/Azure) and a clear mental model of core services like EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, etc. Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Crossplane Sound understanding of OS internals (Linux/AMIs), networking (TCP, HTTP), and databases from an infrastructure point of view Experience working with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) and deploying production-grade workloads Hands-on programming ability in Python or Java - you can script, automate, and build tooling to make infra boring Comfortable debugging performance, networking, or infra-level issues in a live environment Bonus if you ve worked with tools like ArgoCD, Helm, or CDNs like Cloudflare Prior experience in security practices: TLS, key/cert management, vulnerability remediation is a big plus Strong ownership mindset - you not only ship, but also monitor, secure, and scale what you build Curious and constantly evaluating new infra tech and open-source tools, but pragmatic enough to balance innovation with stability and long-term maintainability Able to juggle multiple priorities, handle operational challenges, and collaborate with product/dev teams Experience and Qualifications: 3-4 years of experience Should have hands on development experience with Object Oriented Programming (Java is highly preferred) on a large scale system Understands and showcase ownership of the products Good with concepts of scaling and worked with distributed systems Review and influence new evolving design, architecture, standards and methods with stability, maintainability and scale in mind
