Job Description

During your time with Probus Smart Things,

Design, develop, and optimize backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Work on scalable, high-performance distributed systems with strong focus on reliability and maintainability.
Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka, MQTT, and other messaging frameworks.
Write efficient, optimized SQL queries and contribute to schema design and performance tuning.
Containerize and deploy applications using Docker
,
and integrate into CI/CD pipelines (Git/Bitbucket).
Contribute to cloud-native development by deploying services on AWS and/or GCP
.
Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on system design and contribute to architectural improvements
.
Ensure code quality through peer reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and automation
.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide long-term fixes to improve stability.
Stay up to date with latest Java versions, frameworks, and industry best practices
.

Preferred Skills & Qualification-

Bachelors degree in computer science and Masters is an optional.
Strong proficiency in Java (17–21 version) with deep knowledge of Spring Boot microservices
.
Solid experience with Kafka, MQTT, and event-driven systems
.
Hands-on expertise in SQL and relational database performance optimization
.
Strong understanding of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Bitbucket
.
Experience with cloud environments (AWS/GCP) for deploying and scaling services.
Good understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and design patterns
.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently as an IC while collaborating effectively in a cross- functional team.
