About the Role:

We are supporting a reputed IT services & consulting firm in hiring a Snowflake (Python) Developer for a long-term contract role. The work mode will be remote. This is a hands-on development role focused on building, operating, and optimizing Snowflake data pipelines using Python/Snowpark.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on design, development and administration of Snowflake pipelines, objects and schemas.
• Implement ELT/ETL workflows and transformations using SQL and Snowpark (Python).
• Build and maintain production data pipelines (ingest → transform → serve) with strong focus on performance and cost optimization.
• Implement and maintain RBAC, data security, masking, and object-level access in Snowflake.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and cloud/DevOps to integrate Snowflake with orchestration tools (Airflow/dbt) and cloud platforms.
• Implement unit/integration tests, CI/CD for database code, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and provide on-call support as needed.

Requirements:

• Proven data engineering experience with substantial hands-on Snowflake development and administration.
• Strong proficiency in SQL (complex queries, performance tuning) and Python for data engineering.
• Practical experience with Snowpark (Python) to build data transformations / pipelines.
• Familiarity with ELT patterns, data modeling, and warehousing best practices.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for data code.
• Good communication, documentation, and collaborative skills.

Good to have:

• Experience with dbt and/or Apache Airflow.
• Cloud experience (AWS / Azure / GCP) and exposure to Snowflake cost & warehouse sizing.
• Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core) is a plus.
