JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SITE ENGINEER

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Construction Site Engineer to oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and supervision skills. The candidate must be well versed in execution sequence of various civil works such as concreting, bar bending, shuttering, scaffolding, plastering, painting, tile laying, plumbing and so on.

JOB TYPE: On-site, Full time

Work Location: Poonamallee, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. PROJECT PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT

· Assist detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.

2. VENDOR AND MATERIAL TRACKING

· Take note of incoming vendors for materials and services on site and maintain detailed records for the same.

· Oversee procurement to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.

3. TECHNICAL EXECUTION

· Oversee laborers and sub vendors to ensure proper quality of work is executed.

· Guide skilled laborers on execution of formwork, bar-bending, placing reinforcement steel, concrete, blockwork, plastering, painting, tile laying, joineries, plumbing and other finishing works.

4. COMPLIANCE AND DOCUMENTATION

· Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports and change orders.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

Diploma or a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

3- 7 years of experience as site engineer and civil works supervision. We are not looking for professionals with more than 7 years of experience in the field. This role is not for freshers.

SKILL SET AND KEY ATTRIBUTES:

. Ability to work independently and lead a team.

· Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and regulations.

· Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and MS Office Suite.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Hands-on, result-oriented, and detail-focused.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

· Strong technical knowledge in executing Civil and Plumbing Works

· Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.

· Adaptability to handle the dynamic nature of MSME projects.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

· English- written and spoken

· Tamil-spoken (not a compulsion but preferred)
