Shipping Manager

The Shipping Head will oversee and manage the entire shipping operations across four companies within the garment industry. You will be responsible for leading shipping teams, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch of goods, maintaining compliance with industry regulations, and optimizing shipping processes to achieve cost-effectiveness and efficiency. You will supervise and coordinate the activities of shipping teams across all four companies, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to shipping staff. Creating a collaborative and high-performance work environment will be crucial for this role. Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily shipping and distribution operations to ensure the timely delivery of goods. You will need to coordinate with production, inventory, and logistics departments to align shipping schedules and ensure accurate documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels. Implementing strategies to streamline shipping processes, reduce costs, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve shipping efficiency will be part of your role. You will also need to ensure all shipping activities comply with legal regulations and company policies, maintaining safety standards and staying updated on changes in shipping regulations. Establishing and maintaining relationships with shipping carriers and third-party logistics providers, negotiating contracts and rates, as well as resolving any issues or disputes with vendors and carriers promptly will be essential tasks. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in shipping or logistics management within the garment or textile industry. Proven experience in leading and managing teams across multiple locations or companies is required, as well as a strong knowledge of shipping regulations, documentation, and best practices. Proficiency in shipping software and the Microsoft Office Suite is also necessary, along with excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred skills include experience with international shipping and customs regulations, familiarity with lean management and continuous improvement methodologies, and the ability to analyze data and generate reports to inform decision-making.
