Shipping Manager

Job Summary:

The Shipping Manager Plant is responsible for overseeing all shipping and receiving operations at the plant facility. This role ensures the timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of finished goods to customers and the receipt of incoming materials. The Shipping Manager leads a team of shipping clerks, forklift operators, and loaders to maintain high operational standards in alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate shipments.
  
• Coordinate outbound logistics and schedule freight carriers (LTL, FTL, intermodal, etc.).
  
• Supervise, train, and lead the shipping team to meet productivity and safety goals.
  
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
  
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production and Inventory teams for order fulfillment.
  
• Maintain accurate shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, and export documents.
  
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
  
• Collaborate with customer service, production, and supply chain teams to resolve shipment issues.
  
• Track KPIs (on-time delivery, accuracy, freight cost, etc.) and generate regular reports for leadership.
  
• Manage warehouse space utilization and oversee loading dock operations.
  
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other transportation regulations.

Working Conditions:

• May require flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, based on shipping schedules.
