Shift Incharge Engineer

Job Summary:

1. CNC/VMC Programming & Machine Setup:

• Program and set up CNC/VMC machines based on production requirements, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure proper machine calibration, tool selection, and workpiece setup for efficient and accurate machining.
• Optimize CNC/VMC programs to improve cycle times and reduce tool wear, ensuring high-quality output.
• Perform regular maintenance checks and troubleshooting on CNC/VMC machines.

1. Team Leadership:

• Supervise and guide the production team during the shift, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
• Provide training and support to operators on CNC machine operations and safety protocols.
• Enforce adherence to work schedules, production targets, and quality standards.
• Promote teamwork, motivate staff, and resolve conflicts effectively to maintain a positive work environment.

1. Production Monitoring:

• Oversee the production process to ensure adherence to the production schedule.
• Monitor machine performance, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective actions to prevent delays.
• Ensure that all finished products meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Perform in-process inspections and coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team to ensure consistent product quality.

1. Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure that all safety procedures are followed and that the work environment remains safe.
• Conduct regular safety audits and report any incidents or unsafe conditions to management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, production guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

1. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and increased efficiency.
• Suggest modifications to CNC programs or machining processes to optimize productivity.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for any production issues or machine breakdowns.

1. Communication and Reporting:

• Maintain effective communication with the Production Manager, Maintenance, and Quality Control teams.
• Prepare and submit shift reports detailing production progress, machine performance, and any issues encountered.
• Collaborate with the planning team to ensure adequate material and tool availability for uninterrupted production.

Qualifications:

• Education:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.

• Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in CNC/VMC programming, operation, and setup.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or shift incharge role is preferred.

• Skills:

• Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC programming languages (e.g., G-code, Fanuc, Siemens, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Proficient in using CAD/CAM software for programming and tool path generation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to enforce them.

Working Conditions:

• Shift work, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
• Physical demands may include standing for extended periods and working in a noisy environment.
