Purpose/Objective The thread cleaning operating personnel performs manual operations on filled and milled shells. This involves cleaning out explosive residues in the shell thread. He also performs cavity calibration if necessary. At end of the cleaning, he varnishes the prescribed part of the explosive with Shellac coating prescribed on the shell drawing. Operating personnel for the thread cleaning works under supervision of the production supervisor.
