Shift Engineer

Role Overview: A Shift Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of equipment and systems during their assigned shift. You will be responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain operational standards. Collaboration with other teams, adherence to safety regulations, and supervision of maintenance staff are key aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities: - Maintenance and Repair: Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, and other facility equipment. - Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, or operational problems to minimize downtime. - Operations Oversight: Monitor and ensure the efficient functioning of equipment and systems, such as HVAC, generators, or production lines. - Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. - Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, and provide reports to supervisors. - Inventory Management: Manage and maintain engineering stores, including tracking parts and initiating requisitions for replenishment. - Team Supervision: Lead and manage maintenance staff during the shift, ensuring their work meets standards and safety protocols. Qualifications Required: - Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and electrical systems. - Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures. - Ability to manage inventory and maintenance operations effectively. - Leadership skills to supervise and guide maintenance staff. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with other teams.
