Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Service Transition & Service Introduction Manager to lead the seamless handover of IT infrastructure projects into Business-as-Usual (BAU) operations. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring that services are transitioned smoothly, meeting operational requirements and delivering business value. You will work closely with Service Design Leads, Project Managers, Architects, and SMEs to support the full lifecycle of service transition and readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Transition Planning: Develop and manage detailed service transition plans, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business readiness.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the key interface between Project Delivery and Service Operations, ensuring all stakeholders are informed, engaged, and aligned.
  • Service Readiness & Introduction: Ensure new or changed services are designed, tested, and documented to meet operational acceptance criteria.
  • Change Management: Coordinate with Change Advisory Boards (CABs) to ensure proper planning and implementation of service changes.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive transition documentation, service acceptance checklists, and regular status reports.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate structured knowledge transfer sessions between project teams and support teams to enable smooth ongoing operations.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 810 years of experience in Service Transition/Service Introduction roles, ideally within IT infrastructure environments.
  • In-depth understanding of ITIL framework (certification preferred).
  • Strong grasp of Service Design principles and documentation.
  • Experience in managing transitions involving cloud platforms, virtualization, network, and storage.
  • Solid understanding of Agile delivery and Project Management methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple service transitions concurrently in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Certifications

  • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation / Intermediate / Expert
  • Agile or Scrum certifications
  • PRINCE2 or PMP (preferred)
