Job Summary:

The Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of 4-wheeler vehicles as per manufacturer standards. This role ensures the highest level of vehicle performance, safety, and customer satisfaction by carrying out quality service operations in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Servicing & Repairs:

• Perform scheduled maintenance services (oil change, filters, brakes, fluids, etc.).
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Carry out repairs including engine work, transmission, suspension, electrical, and AC systems.
• Conduct quality checks and test drives to verify issue resolution.
• Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer and dealership quality standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Accurately record labor hours and parts used on job cards or service reports.
• Update service records in the dealership management system (DMS).
• Report additional repair requirements to the supervisor or service advisor.
• Comply with warranty procedures and documentation for eligible repairs.

Tool & Equipment Handling:

• Use diagnostic and workshop tools appropriately and safely.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of workshop equipment.
• Ensure tools are returned and stored after each job.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all safety procedures and dealership policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmental regulations.

Teamwork & Communication:

• Work collaboratively with other technicians and service advisors.
• Provide technical input to improve service quality.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job progress or issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

• ITI / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in vehicle servicing or repairs (4-wheeler segment).
• Strong understanding of automotive systems and repair techniques.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
• Basic computer skills for data entry in DMS.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
