Service Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Commissioning

• Install, configure, and test AV systems, including projectors, displays, video walls, sound systems, video conferencing solutions, and control systems.
• Perform system integration with clients IT networks where required.
• Conduct on-site equipment calibration and optimization for best performance.

2. Service & Support

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues on-site and remotely.
• Perform preventive maintenance and health checks of AV equipment as per service schedules.
• Replace faulty components and coordinate with OEMs for warranty claims.

3. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain service logs, site reports, and update asset inventory.
• Document system configurations, wiring diagrams, and changes made during service calls.
• Provide feedback to the service team on recurring issues and suggest improvements.

4. Customer Interaction

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during site visits.
• Train end-users on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Ensure service quality and customer satisfaction through professional interaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education:

  Diploma/Degree in Electronics, Electrical, IT, or related field.

• Experience:

  3 To 9 years in AV installation, service, or support
• Proficiency with AV brands such as Crestron, Extron, Poly, Cisco, Logitech, Barco, etc.
• Understanding of AV over IP, networking basics, and control programming.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel as per support needs.

Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):

• CTS / CTS-I / CTS-D (AVIXA)
• Crestron DMC-E / Extron EAP
• Poly / Cisco VC Certifications
• Networking certifications (CompTIA Network+, CCNA basics)

Work Conditions:

• Field-based role with frequent travel to client sites.
• Standard working hours with occasional after-hours or weekend work based on service needs.
