Server Admin

As a Windows Server Administrator at ZL Tech, your primary responsibility will be to install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems and related hardware. You will manage server roles and features, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and File Services. Monitoring server performance to ensure system availability and reliability will also be a key aspect of your role. Active Directory Administration will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. You will design, implement, and manage the Active Directory infrastructure, including forests, domains, and organizational units (OUs). Managing user accounts, groups, and permissions using AD and implementing Group Policies for a secure and efficient environment will be essential tasks. Regular AD health checks and maintenance tasks will also fall under your purview. Your duties will also involve managing Domain Controllers (DC) to ensure authentication and authorization services, as well as implementing and managing DNS services. Ensuring the availability and reliability of DNS services for both internal and external resolution will be critical. Security and compliance will be a significant focus area. You will implement and enforce server and network security policies and procedures, monitor and manage security updates and patches, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to server and data security. Troubleshooting and support will be part of your daily routine. You will provide technical support and troubleshooting for server-related issues, resolve server and network problems to minimize downtime, and collaborate with other IT staff to implement solutions for complex issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windows Servers and Active Directory, ensuring data integrity and availability through regular backups and recovery testing. Creating and maintaining server and network documentation, preparing reports on server performance, capacity, and incidents, and developing scripts for server automation tasks will also be part of your job responsibilities. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Proven experience as a Windows Server Administrator or similar role, hands-on experience with Windows Server OS, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, and DNS services, along with strong technical skills and certifications like Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+ will be advantageous.
