Senior WordPress Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior WordPress Developer to lead the development and optimization of custom WordPress themes, plugins, and websites. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of WordPress architecture, modern web development practices, and experience in building high-performance, scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and deployment of custom WordPress themes and plugins. Maintain and optimize existing WordPress websites for performance, SEO, and responsiveness. Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver robust web solutions. Integrate third-party APIs, services, and tools into WordPress platforms. Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers. Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and best practices. Manage version control using Git and deployment processes (CI/CD pipelines if applicable). Ensure all work adheres to accessibility, security, and web standards. Required Skills and Qualifications: 5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development. Expert in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and MySQL. Strong experience with Gutenberg block development and the REST API. Experience with modern front-end frameworks/tools (e.g., React, Vue.js, Tailwind CSS). Proficient in developing and customizing themes and plugins from scratch. Familiarity with popular WordPress builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery) when required. Strong understanding of website performance optimization and SEO best practices. Knowledge of headless WordPress and JAMstack architecture is a plus. Experience with WooCommerce, ACF, CPT, and multilingual setups. Familiarity with Docker, WP-CLI, and deployment automation is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field. Contributions to WordPress Core, themes, or plugins (GitHub or WordPress.org links are a bonus). Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
