Role & responsibilities

Dedicated team member to engineering and deployment of highly resilient, scalable and automated digital video and streaming solutions for Live, Replay, nDVR, VoD services pushing automation and efficiency in client-focused, high-expertise environment.
Responsible for deploying, integrating, supporting and maintaining video and streaming media solutions, from sourcing, encoding, packaging, securing to streaming media workflows on-premises and cloud media processing components, transparent for the end clients.
Deployment of proactive capacity models, upgrades, new features, configuration and releases, tools, mission critical monitoring in an agile manner to accommodate the platforms evolution and growth in line with KPIs and high-availability designs including disaster recovery. Follow industry best practice to deliver new projects ensuring defined blueprint adherence. Migration of on-prem and legacy solutions to modern architectures for on-prem and cloud.
Contribute with strong engineering expertise to platforms deployment, integration and maintenance tasks, analyze and enhance current deployment and configuration strategy, introduce and develop automation and drive efficiency. Support troubleshooting and addressing issues, coordinate resolution, technical field trials and operational tests for software and hardware solutions on prem and cloud based.
Create and maintain High-Level and Low-Level documentation, Runbooks and As-Build documentation. Perform Lab, Pre-production and Production deployment/upgrades/maintenance lifecycle and integration activities with other subcomponents, with no disruptions for end user experience. Follow and support enhancements of procedures, reporting and documentation for deploying and running advanced technical solutions.
Provide knowledge transfer and cross-team support for systems deployment, integration and operational excellence.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 6+ years of proven experience and knowledge in cable, satellite or telco industry with end-to-end system integration of B2B/B2C video services, Video Headend/IPTV/OTT solutions. Hands-on experience with video processing pipelines: feed contribution, ingest, encoding, decoding, transcoding (offline and real-time), packaging for ABR outputs (HLS, MPEG-DASH, H.264/H.265 profiles). Fluency with video codec ecosystems and transport protocols: MPEG 2/4, GOP structure, I-P-B frames, AVC, HEVC, RTP, RTMP, SRT, SDR/HDR, container formats (MP4, MPEG-TS, fragmented MP4), bitrates and aspect ratios manifest/segment tuning (segment length, fMP4 vs TS) for Live, Replay, Recordings and VoD delivery. Strong experience with packaging and streaming tooling (FFmpeg, Ateme solutions or equivalent encoders/packagers), real time ABR ladder generation, bitrate ladder optimization, Dolby audio, closed-captions and subtitles, SCTE-35 ad signalling, client and server-side manifest/ad manipulation.
Experience and advanced expertise in video delivery solutions and deploying capacity for multi-vendor multi-tier CDN platforms like, Akamai, Google Media CDN, Velocix, AWS CloudFront or similar, leveraging automated provisioning and configuration workflows such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible
Experience with DRM systems integration (Widevine, Playready, Fairplay)
Professional proficiency with Linux system engineering with hands-on experience, across RHEL/CentOS, Debian based distributions, system service and package management (ex. rpm, yum, apt) and advanced troubleshooting using low level diagnostics (ex. tcpdump, journalctl, dmesg, ethtool, firewall services etc) in high-availability production environments.
Scripting for automation of deployment tasks and workflows (ex. Python, Bash, PowerShell etc). Able to independently develop scripts and custom software tools for automation of video delivery solutions on-prem and in cloud.
Strong grasp of version control and advanced branching strategies and CI/CD including solutions such as Git, Bitbucket, etc.
Proficiency in data serialization and interchange formats including JSON, XML, YAML with understanding and experience with parsing, validating, transforming structured data for APIs, configuration management and automation pipelines. Deep understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, request/response lifecycle, headers, status codes and secure communication
Professional level experience with networking focused on multicast, high-resiliency, low-latency and security. Deep understanding of OSI layers fundamentals, packet flow and deep packet inspection, load balancing, redundancy and high-availability designs, Ethernet frames, MAC address, ARP, VLAN architecture and 802.1Q tagging and trunking, network technologies and protocols like IPv4/IPv6, TCP, UDP, TLS, ICMP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS. Hands-on expertise troubleshooting latency, jitter, retransmissions, path MTU with specialized expertise in multicast (like IGMP, MLD, MSDP, PIM SM/SSM/DM, RPF, RTP, MRIB and multicast trees, replication, Anycast architecture. Strong knowledge of core network services like NTP, DNS, Syslog, SNMP etc
QoE/QoS monitoring, analysis and observability with solutions like Grafana, Conviva, ELK/EFK stacks, Nagios, performing high-resolution log correlation, time-series analysis, synthetic health checks, SLA driven alerting and metrics.
Proficiency in Jira for agile project management and issue tracking and Confluence/Wiki for creating, maintaining and sharing technical documentation to support team collaboration and knowledge management.
