Senior Tooling Engineer

As a Senior Tool Engineer at Sree Lakshmi Precision Tools in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, you will play a crucial role in transforming design concepts into high-quality, cost-effective products. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and implement all essential tooling, fixtures, and production aids, optimizing processes, driving cost reduction, and ensuring seamless technical integration across all core machinery. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables: - Lead the design and development of production and development tools for mechanical and hydraulic press operations, including blanking, piercing, bending, and forming dies. - Create welding fixtures and jigs to guarantee dimensional accuracy and repeatability of critical assemblies. - Spearhead cost reduction initiatives through process analysis, tooling modifications, and material utilization optimization. - Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure efficient and cost-effective production. - Design and implement efficient assembly lines for sheet metal products, focusing on optimized workflow and ergonomic principles. - Apply expert knowledge of press machines, shearing, and CNC press brakes to select precise machinery and tooling. - Troubleshoot complex tooling issues to minimize downtime and improve Tool Life and OEE. - Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tool maintenance and proper usage. - Serve as the technical expert for advanced machinery, including Laser Cutting and Welding Technologies, ensuring compatibility of tools and fixtures. - Provide technical training and support to the shop-floor team on tooling setup, machine operation, and quality control. Qualification Required: - Education: Diploma or Degree in Tool Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. - Experience: Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in tool design and engineering within a demanding sheet metal fabrication environment. - Technical Skills: Hands-on knowledge of press machine stamping, shearing, CNC press brakes, and welding processes. Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software such as CATIA, SEIMENS NX CAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD. - Key Differentiator: Proven track record of successful cost reduction and process optimization projects. - Work Ethic: Strong analytical skills, detail-orientation, and ability to thrive in a small-scale, fast-paced, high-precision setting.,
