Senior Staff Thermal Design Engineer (f/m/d)

Job Description

Your tasks You will accompany the entire development process of our frequency inverters starting with the pre-development, the product design up to the transition to industrialization and product aftercare. The definition of the cooling system, the thermal design and simulation of different drive components (e.g. electronic circuits and power electronic components) and the cabinet integration will be your main tasks. You will work in an interdisciplinary team together with power electronic and mechanical experts and benefit from the wealth of experience of our team. You coordinate your development activities with not only with the design teams but also with our laboratory and/or external development partners. You love variety - your tasks range from theoretical considerations to CFD simulations up to thermal measurements in our laboratories. You create test specifications and accompany the verification up to the evaluation of the measurement results of drives, drive components, PCBs and prototypes. Also important: You support the certification of our products (according to e.g. IEC, UL,..). Your profile You are an engineer (f/m/d) having min 8 years of experience with a Batchlore, masters degree or doctorate / PhD in electrical or mechanical engineering, electrical drives and machines, power electronics or Through your experience, you have a comprehensive background of thermal design, heat transfer, fluid dynamics as well as loss mechanisms in power electronics / power conversion of course preferably already in the field of frequency converters. You ideally have not only experience in thermal design, thermal simulation, and thermal verification but also with circuit simulators (e.g. Matlab/Simuling, Plecs, PSpice) to derive corresponding component losses You are proficient in the use of measurement equipment and have hands-on experience in an electronics or power electronics lab. You are familiar with CFD simulators, ideally you have already knowledge on handling FloTherm and/or 6SigmaET You speak English fluently and ideally you can follow conversations in German. You enjoy working in an international and multicultural environment. BE/B.tech ME/Mtech or Prefered Phd in Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering with min 8 years of experience.
