Senior Software Engineer – Playback Platform (Golang + AWS)

About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Playback Platform team at Warner Bros Discovery, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the backend services that power seamless streaming experiences for millions of subscribers worldwide across platforms like Max, TNT Sports, D+, and other WBD brands.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge video playback solutions and content protection systems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and fault-tolerant backend services for video playback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering, to deliver robust software solutions.
• Build solutions addressing video playback performance, security, and DRM (Digital Rights Management).
• Drive best practices for software engineering, including automated testing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in the team.
• Stay updated with emerging trends in video streaming and cloud technologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and experience with TypeScript.
• Solid experience building scalable, high-availability backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP cloud technologies.
• Experience in designing and implementing APIs and microservices.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of video streaming technologies and DRM solutions.
• Familiarity with other programming languages like C++, Java, Python, Rust, or Elixir.
• Previous experience working on globally distributed systems.

Work Mode:

• Full-time, Work from Office (WFO) – Bengaluru / Hyderabad

Contract Duration:

• 6 months (extendable based on performance and business needs)
