Job Description

We are seeking a

Senior BI Engineer

who is passionate about data visualisation and business insights. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with

Tableau

and strong in

SQL

, capable of transforming raw data into impactful dashboards and reports that drive decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in
Tableau
.
Write and optimise complex
SQL
queries for data extraction and transformation.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.
Build and maintain semantic layers or data models for BI reporting.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across dashboards.
Contribute to data documentation, goverce, and visualisation best practices.
Partner with data engineers to ensure data pipelines align with reporting needs.

Required Skills

5+ years
of experience as a BI Engineer, Data Analyst, or Visualisation Specialist.
Expertise in Tableau
dashboard design, calculations, parameters, and performance optimisation.
Strong SQL
proficiency for querying and transforming data.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences.

Good to Have

Basic programming knowledge (
Python
,
R
, or similar) for automation or data prep.
Experience working with
data warehouses
(Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc).
Familiarity with
dbt
or
data modeling concepts
.
Understanding of
ETL/ELT processes
and collaboration with data engineering teams.
Experience with
Apache Superset
or other open-source BI tools.
