Senior Software Architect

Position: Tech Lead / Software Architect Location: Mumbai (On-site) Experience: 3+ Years | Type: Full-Time About Us Were a rapidly growing med-tech company reimagining point-of-care diagnostics through intelligent software and custom hardware. Our integrated platform combines Python, Flask, PyQt , and Chromium-based UIs with real-time USB-connected devices to deliver immediate, data-rich clinical insights. As we expand into AI-first healthcare , incorporating computer vision , machine learning , and LLM-powered assistants , we seek a Tech Lead / Software Architect who can own, modernize, and scale our platform to meet global diagnostic standards. Role Overview This is a pivotal leadership role that requires architectural depth , technical foresight , and team-building excellence . You will define the blueprint of our platform, lead its technical transformation, and ensure it aligns with international standards of safety, security, and reliability in medical software. Key Responsibilities Architect & Modernize: Own and evolve a modular, testable, and scalable software architecture. Lead periodic codebase audits, refactoring, and technical debt reduction to ensure long-term maintainability and readiness for future features. Integrate AI Systems: Seamlessly embed: CV models for diagnostic image analysis ML modules for real-time risk prediction LLM-powered clinical agents (e.g., Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems) Drive Core Development: Oversee design and implementation of core modules — including signal processing, sensor data ingestion, visualization, and multi-threaded USB communication . Compliance & Standards: Ensure software aligns with international medical device regulations and standards , including: CE / MDR (Europe), FDA 21 CFR Part 11 / SaMD (USA), HIPAA (Data Privacy), IEC 62304 (Medical Software Lifecycle) Drive audit-readiness , traceability, and validation processes across the SDLC. Quality Engineering: Implement and enforce best practices in testing, CI/CD, static code analysis, automated deployment, and release documentation. Team Leadership: Build and mentor a growing team of engineers. Conduct design/code reviews, establish engineering standards, and lead roadmap planning. Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate product, research, and clinical requirements into a cohesive software system in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Technical Skillset 5+ years of experience in software architecture using Python , Flask , and PyQt/PySide Strong command over real-time systems , threading , USB communication , and performance profiling Proven ability to design and implement efficient algorithms and data structures , especially in areas like: Signal/image processing, Low-latency data pipelines, Optimization of medical measurements and visualizations Experience in Chromium-based UI frameworks (e.g., QtWebEngine) Familiarity with OpenCV, scikit-learn, XGBoost , and Hugging Face Experience integrating third-party AI APIs , inference models, or embedded ML into production Skilled with cross-platform packaging , Docker-based builds, and automated testing on Windows/Linux/macOS Knowledge of cybersecurity , data encryption, and PHI-safe architectures Bonus: Experience with IEC 62304 , ISO 13485 , HL7/FHIR , or SaMD compliance Leadership Qualities System Thinker: Able to balance long-term architecture with short-term goals Algorithmic Thinker: Approaches problems with first-principles thinking and elegant technical solutions System Architect: Balances design patterns, algorithmic efficiency, and resource constraints Clean Code Advocate: Values structure, refactoring, and documentation Mentor & Coach: Guides team members toward high-quality, sustainable practices Compliance-Minded: Thinks in terms of traceability, documentation, and validation from day one Cross-Functional Collaborator: Communicates clearly with engineers, doctors, QA, and business leaders What We Offer Leadership role in AI-enabled clinical diagnostics Ownership of platform architecture, modernization, and compliance Fast-paced, innovation-driven culture with transparency and purpose Pathway to Principal Engineer or CTO based on impact
