Role Overview Description

Key Responsibilities:-

• Ensure 247 up time for AWS-hosted microservices and databases.
• Implement monitoring and alerting (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
• Handle incident response: detection, escalation, RCA, and SLA reporting.
• Automate operational tasks (failover, scaling, healing) via Python/Bash.
• Manage ECS/EKS containers and legacy workloads (Tomcat, Apache).
• Ensure HA/DR readiness for Redis, RabbitMQ, and RDS clusters.
• Collaborate on zero-downtime deployments with DevOps teams.
• Define and measure SLOs/SLIs for service reliability.
• Support audit compliance: log retention, access reviews, incident documentation.
• Coordinate on-call rotations and manage 247 shift handovers.
• Integrate monitoring into CI/CD workflows (Jenkins).
• Assist with capacity planning for compute, DB, and caching layers.
• Troubleshoot AWS networking issues (VPC, ALB, CloudFront).
• Maintain operational runbooks and knowledge base.
• Support client escalations with audit-ready reports.

• AWS services: EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch
• Container orchestration: Docker, ECS/EKS
• Monitoring: Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki
• Messaging/caching: Redis, RabbitMQ
• Linux administration and troubleshooting
• Scripting: Bash, Python
• Microservices architecture understanding
• HA and DR strategies (multi-AZ, replicas)
• CI/CD familiarity (Jenkins, Artifactory)
• Observability practices: SLO/SLI, tracing
• Incident management and RCA
• Cost monitoring and scaling in AWS
• Security and compliance (SOC2, ISO27001, HIPAA)
• Legacy stack support (Tomcat, Apache)
• Growth path toward Reliability Architect roles
