As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating the current Selenium framework architecture and proposing enhancements to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Your main responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites using Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and Cucumber. Additionally, you will design and implement new modules or components to extend the framework's functionality based on project requirements. It is essential to develop robust and efficient Selenium test scripts using best practices and design patterns while also refactoring existing scripts to improve readability, modularity, and performance. You should have a deep understanding of API testing using Rest Assured and the capability to enhance the existing automation framework in the team to reduce existing tasks and improve productivity. Collaboration with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders is crucial to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Furthermore, continuously improving QA processes, tasks, and activities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness is a key aspect of this role. As a mentor to team members of the QA team, you will provide guidance on best practices and technical expertise to reduce the effort of the existing automation cycle. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, experience with CI/CD pipelines, familiarity with tools like Jenkins, and the ability to integrate Selenium tests with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for nightly regression are also required skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in Agile teams, as well as a basic understanding of DevOps concepts, is expected.
