Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Research & Development Chemist to lead the formulation and development of innovative cosmetic, skin care, and oral care products The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of raw materials, regulatory compliance, formulation science, and market trends You ll work cross-functionally with marketing, production, and quality teams to bring ideas from concept to commercial launch

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the formulation and development of new and improved skin care, cosmetic, and oral care products Conduct lab-scale development, stability testing, and scale-up trials in coordination with the production team Select appropriate raw materials and maintain formulation documentation, including product specifications and batch records Evaluate and troubleshoot existing formulations to improve performance, cost, or compliance Stay informed on new ingredients, global cosmetic regulations, and market trends Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project execution, from ideation to commercialization Ensure adherence to GMP, ISO, and internal quality standards Mentor junior chemists and lab technicians

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field Certification in Cosmetic Formulation or Regulatory Affairs (preferred but not mandatory)

Hard Skills:

Strong knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, emulsions, surfactants, active ingredients, and preservatives Proficiency in developing emulsions, gels, serums, pastes, and suspensions Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (eg BIS, FDA, EU, ASEAN, etc) Competency in analytical testing methods (viscosity, pH, stability, etc)

Soft Skills:

Innovative mindset and a passion for creating high-performance formulations Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and documentation abilities Team-oriented with leadership qualities Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Experience:

5-8 years of hands-on experience in formulation and product development within the personal care or cosmetic manufacturing industry Experience working with private label or contract manufacturing clients is a plus Prior experience in scaling formulations from lab to production level
