Job
Description
The opportunity As a Senior Professional (P3) in this role, you will be responsible for identifying, exploring, and implementing technology and product development strategies to enhance and secure the global positioning of the business. Your key tasks will include ensuring project execution, fostering innovation, and developing R&D capabilities to drive profitability. You will devise research methods, focus on future technical direction, and prepare technical specifications for laboratory test equipment and processes. Additionally, you may participate in intellectual property evaluations, coordinate production runs, and provide recommendations on the acquisition of new technological equipment and materials within set budgets and targets. Problems faced in this role are often difficult and sometimes complex, requiring advanced knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. How you'll make an impact Your main responsibilities will involve providing advanced technical leadership in transformer thermal design for R&D initiatives, addressing industrial challenges, and staying informed about developments through technology reviews. You will leverage your expertise in relevant technologies, tools, and methodologies to support all phases of R&D projects, including design clarification, simulation, and troubleshooting. Conducting thermal analyses using CFD and FEA to model heat transfer, airflow, and temperature profiles in power transformers will be a key aspect of your role. You will also collaborate with other simulation teams to deliver multi-physics finite element approaches, participate in feasibility studies, propose technical solutions, and design products. Communication of results through reports, specifications, and educational materials will be crucial for knowledge dissemination. Furthermore, you will evaluate and enhance production processes, provide expert advice to manufacturing facilities, and collaborate with global research scientists, technology centers, managers, customers, and academic partners. Your background To excel in this role, you must hold an M.Tech or Ph.D. background, with a Ph.D. in thermal or fluid dynamics being mandatory. A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in thermal and fluid simulation, particularly using 2D and 3D CFD tools such as Fluent, is required. Proficiency in object-oriented programming, preferably VB.NET, and a strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics are essential. Experience with power transformer thermal design, R&D projects involving transformers, and empirical validation is desirable. Familiarity with CAD modeling software like CREO is considered an asset. Successful candidates will excel at collaborating within international and remote teams and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Experience with ACT and APDL programming in Ansys is a plus, along with a comprehensive understanding of the technical field and robust technical expertise. Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites as needed and strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.,
