Senior R&D Infrastructure and Data Engineer

In this role as a Senior R&D Infrastructure and Data Engineer at Barclays, you will be a key player in driving innovation and excellence within the digital landscape. Your main focus will be on contributing to the Cyber Fraud Fusion Centre, where your responsibilities will involve delivering scalable CFFC services to disrupt and prevent upstream economic crime. To excel in this position, you should have prior experience as a cloud engineer in a global organization, possessing a diverse range of architecture expertise. This should include deployment of GUI applications, data transformation, automation, and data storage solutions. An essential aspect of this role will be your ability to coach software and data engineers to successfully execute complex projects under consistent delivery processes such as CI/CD. Your proficiency in AWS Cloud technology will be crucial, specifically in management and governance tools like Lambda, Auto Scaling, VPC, EC2, KMS, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, S3, RDS, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, and Redshift. Additionally, knowledge in Databricks and Snowflake will be necessary. Experience in supporting analytics use cases from ML Ops and data hydration perspective will also be highly valued. You will be expected to lead projects technically to completion, identifying risks, costs, challenging architecture, and ensuring long-term sustainability. Your understanding of different project methodologies, lifecycles, major phases, dependencies, milestones, and required documentation needs will play a crucial role in collaborating across teams to deliver complex systems and components while effectively managing stakeholders" expectations. Some other highly valued skills for this role may include experience in ML Ops on both on-prem and cloud platforms, knowledge of the latest social engineering tactics used by cybercriminals, expertise in processing real-time events data at scale, practical understanding of full-stack web development, and experience working in a fraud technology function.
